Nichole Smaglick's considerable expertise on promoting and conserving living culture helps Watermark set new standards for sustainable development. She regularly consults to The World Bank and European Union and is a global leader in efforts to preserve and market traditional culture and arts. An accomplished pianist and linguist, Nichole is fluent in Swahili and is an expert in African music. National Geographic depends upon Smaglick for her rich, first-hand knowledge of East Africa. She is the inspiration for an impending television series, Another Land. In sum, Nichole walks on water.
Nichole earned a M.B.A. in Cultural Tourism and B.A. in African Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her business ventures include Another Land, a cultural travel agency, and Amias, an indigenous fashion distributor.
